I was born in Louisville, KY on July 20, 1973 to Michael D Rodgers, Sr and Donna W Rodgers. My family and I lived in Louisville for about 14 years and then we moved down to a small town north of Elizabethtown, KY called Lebanon Junction where my father Pioneered a new church. We always use to joke about the town being like Petie Coe Junction from "Green Acres," but in the end I grew to love the place. After High School, I left for Evangel College now Evangel University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in History. My last year of college Geri and I decided to get married and move to Saipan, where Geri is originally from, to do some Missionary work. We stayed there for five years.
Presently, since joining the Army to pay off all those Stafford loans, I have become intensly interested in Networking, systems administration and programming.
A Brief Bio on Geraldine:
Geraldine was born in Haganta, Guam on January 18, 1974 to Ireneo B Asuncion and Silveria T Asuncion. Her mom was from Saipan and her dad was from Philipines. Geri grew up for the first couple of years on Saipan but moved away after her father joined the Army. Geri's family would frequent the Island, when her dad would be stationed in Korea. During those years on Saipan, she attended Mt. Carmel, Saipan Community and finally Grace Christian Academy. Later on after meeting Geri and college and deciding to get married, we would both come back to the Island work.
Geri also attended Evangel University earning a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a Secondary Teaching Certificate in Science, which came in handy when we moved to Saipan to work.
Where We Met:
I have already mentioned where we met above but Evangel was one of the greatest periods of our lives, right up next to our twins coming in the world and our time spent in Saipan. During, our freshman year's at Evangel, we had both met through a mutual friend and several months later went out on a first date. The date didn't go that well due to a blunder I made. I wont say what it was but because of it, I felt I wouldn't ask her out again. It's funny how things change over time because later on we fell in love and decided to get married and go to Saipan to "give back" as Geri had put it to the school where she recieved Christ as her Savior.
About our babies:
What can I say? We have tried for kids now for six years to no avail. Each year was a test on our nerves and our faith. Not to mention the questions others would ask, like: "When are you going to have kids?" Although,it may have been an innocent question, it always struck pain in our hearts and a quick attempt to change the subject.
But, again, what can I say? God has finally blessed us with two wonderfull babies. They are our pride and joy. For me, I miss them dearly! I don't know if you knew but I am currently deployed and it hurts to be away from them.
